- Mark 6:13

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

When the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is given, the hoped-for effect is that, if it be God's will, the person be physically healed of illness. But even if there is no physical healing, the primary effect of the Sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or the frailty of old age.

Pastoral care for Catholic patients in area hospitals is shared by the local parishes. If you or a loved one are admitted to a hospital, please inform the hospital administration that you are a Catholic so that you will receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Holy Communion.

Holy Communion is brought on a monthly basis to the homes of elderly and ill parishioners who are unable to attend Mass. Please notify the Rectory to arrange a visit.
