Founded in 1923, Saint Francis of Assisi Parish is a vibrant, multi-ethnic Catholic Parish in the heart of Norristown, serving over 1300 families. Whether you're brand new to SFA or a third-generation parishioner, we welcome you with open arms and hearts. If you are new to the area and are looking for a Catholic Parish, we hope you consider joining the SFA Family.

We have lots to offer, from a multitude of Parish Organizations and Ministries to a thriving Pre-K through 8th Grade Parochial School and an on-site Early Learning Center serving children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. From all of us here at SFA, welcome!

MISSION STATEMENT

We the faithful of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, through the inspiration of our Patron St. Francis of Assisi, commit ourselves to proclaiming Jesus Christ to all. To accomplish this goal, we commit ourselves to:

 

Welcome – That all people in Norristown know they have a home here at St. Francis 

Worship – Through a deep devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and the celebration of all the sacraments, we as a community deepen our love for God. 

Serve – Inspired by the example of our patron we reach out to all those who are in need.

Educate – By diving deeper into the mystery of our faith, whether that is in our School, ELC, PREP Program, RCIA or Adult Faith formation.

Through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi, may our parish continue to grow and be the beacon of hope that we have been called to be for our community. 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

- Beginning on Sunday, September 7, 2024, our Mass Schedule will be CHANGING. The 9:00 AM Mass will become a fully Spanish Mass, and we will no longer be having a 1:00 PM bi-monthly Spanish Mass. The 11:00 AM Mass will be moving to 11:30 AM. We will NO LONGER be having a 5:30 PM Sunday night Mass. 

- We have MOVED! The Parish offices are now officially in the new Parish Center, located at 601 Buttonwood Street, which is the former Convent-turned-Meetinghouse. If you have any questions about this, please contact us!
